Who wouldn’t be excited about that awesome power pack. The PlayStation 3 has been out for a while now, and so far its sales have topped those of Sony’s more senior console, the PlayStation 2. The PlayStation 3 came out at about a year after the Xbox 360 came out, which in turn was about a year after the Nintendo’s Genesis came out. It’s a mad race to the top, and the PS3 has surely gained a place amongst the conquerors. PlayStation 4

People still refer to the PlayStation as the PlayStation 2 because, true to its name, it has an equal if not greater power. The PS3 may be the most powerful console on the market, but it’s still relative to its competition. The Xbox 360 and the PS3 are neck to neck in terms of graphics and online gaming, and they’ve both done great jobs equaling or surpassing each other in that area. PlayStation 4

The Sony PlayStation 3 gets points for having a blu-ray player, which is as fancy as anything else out there in today’s abundance of visual excellence. The PlayStation 3 also comes in a variety of color choices. PlayStation 4

There are many speculations and rumors about the PlayStation 3’s release date. One thing is for certain though, it will be here before you know it. Game buffs and Sony loyalists are sure to be watching this console come out very carefully. The expected release dates for the PlayStation 3 are currently slated to be in the U.S. and in Japan. Unfortunately, gamers in the U.S. are no longer eligible to get a PlayStation 3 until March 2006, which is a bit of a long wait. Unfortunately, Sony is only looking tochart their consoles sales after this period.

Sony’s next challenge is the release of Microsoft’s Xbox 360 next March 2006, which is confirmed. Both systems are expected to be on the market for nearly a year each. A recent report yields a prediction of Microsoft recording sales of 54.5 million units by the end of 2006. This is fast, but still a challenge for Sony considering the Xbox’s lead of 9 million units as of the end of December 2004. PlayStation 4

The PlayStation 3’s release date is also March 2006, which is also a slight surprise. Most people had thought that Sony would introduce their baby, the PlayStation 3, at the E3 meeting in July, which would have allowed them a September launch date. This is the main reason why Sony will face a challenge in matching the Xbox’s international sales performance.

What Sony must do in the next few months is to continue to cheer for the PlayStation 3, while continuing to press the PlayStation 2 as well. The PlayStation 2 has reached an important milestones, which can only help Sony, a trend that began with the original PlayStation. As long as they do not forgot about the PlayStation 2, they would have a good chance of winning this console generation war.

Some die-hard gamers are trying to convince others to stay away from the PlayStation 3 because they claim that it has an inferior graphics system. Skeptics claim that the PS3 has an outstanding graphics system, and that the Xbox’s 60 GB has an even better system. PlayStation 4

uninstall the software from your hard drive, because your hard drive will not be able to store andategorize all of the games, videos and music that you have got on the various PS3 systems.

One last thing you must remember is that, whether you are thinking of buying the PS3 or Xbox 360 first, you would have to make an additional investment for each, and that is Judgmental which is a $60 value. The PS3 has great potential, and this is why Sony has been going all out to take the lead.
