NBA insiders: Why Devin Harris Is a Good Fit With the 76ers
I’m going to say it straight: The 76ers made a mistake adding Devin Harris to their team.
Sure, the jury is still out on whether he can be a 25-10 guy on teams without #1 overall pick Kobe Bryant, but the stats that he produced for the 76ers this season were all but horrible. Aside from Williamson having a huge game against the Clippers ( awesomesports.com ), Harris had a horrible game against someone that smashed more three-pointers than Tiger Woods has in the last few years. สล็อตเว็บตรง
Harris was in the news because of his exposé at the start of the season about his partying lifestyle and subsequent suspension by the NBA. Harris has acknowledged to the media that illegal substances have continued to bedearing him throughout the summer. NBA
However, the bulk of Harris’ problems stems from his play on the courts. Against teams like Memphis, the 76ers were forced to use Harris as a pinch-man. Harris’ last three performances with the 76ers had occurred only weeks before series with the Pacers, Lakers, and Lakers. This isn’t the first time Harris has given you glimpses of this problem. He was suspended briefly along with the others in March for testing positive for elevated levels of testosterone. Harris felt that the positive result from that test had been retroactively applied to him this season after Google reports he tested positive a second time. NBA
Harris’ exposé raises a number of topics of speculation: Why does Harris feel the need to drank so much and drink it often? Is it because he wants to drink all day if those around him during the process don’t share his sentiment? Does he Anxiety-wart the bar so much that he can’t socialize? Or did Harr is’ character get damaged because he was just a ball hog before this campaign? NBA
No matter how you feel about Harris, there is no arguing that he has become an integral part of the 76ers commemorated at thestarter zone in Philadelphia. NBA
The sheer foolhardy response is to think that Harris would suddenly stop drinking considering the number of games he has missed already. There is also no arguing that he has been participating in more Alcohol promenades (i.e. night clubs and etc).
But the 76ers are better served by looking at the good they can get out of Harris. The first-round draft selection that the 76ers got (9th pick) has brought potential talent and game to the 76ers. Harris has played legitimately well at the power forward position even though he has only been making approximately five minutes an game. He has shown flexibility defensively and offensively. His only flaw has been rebounding. Harris’ energy-exploding ability has largely contributed to the growth and efficiency of Spencer Hawes, a far more well-rounded shooter than Harris has ever had to be on the floor. If the 76ers hope to be a playoff team, they can only hope that Harris’ energy continues to grow and improve. Harris is worth the trouble. He is a vital component to the 76ers continuing success going forward. NBA
Harris has been fined and suspended for the 76ers in part for a violation of the NBA’s substance abuse policy. This is an applaudable gesture on the part of the organization. The 76ers want to send a message to the world at large about the NBA’s desire to address an issue. Until this group takes on a new philosophy, the team will continue to struggle on offense and defense.
